Yoo-Ho’s first brewery in Tokyo opens in Shinagawa Intercity, targeting business and inbound tourism YO-HO Brewing Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Karuizawa, Nagano Prefecture; President and CEO: Naoyuki Ide), which produces and sells craft beers such as “YONA YONA ALE,” and Wondertable Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Hiroaki Kono), will open “YONA YONA TOKYO BREWERY” (hereinafter “YONA YONA TOKYO BREWERY”) in March 2026. Owned and operated by Nippon Steel Kowa Real Estate Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Masahiro Miwa), the brewery will open in stages starting in September 2025, with the grand opening of all tenants scheduled for March 2026. The brewery will serve original craft beer brewed in-house, and is expected to be the largest craft beer restaurant in Japan*2 directly connected to a station*1. Craft beer brewer Yo-Ho Brewing and restaurant chain Wondertable began collaborating in 2013, sharing the desire to spread craft beer culture to Japan through the globally trending format of craft beer restaurants. The first “Yona Yona BEER KITCHEN” opened in Akasaka, Tokyo, and in 2015, the brand name was changed to “YONA YONA BEER WORKS,” with six locations currently operating within Tokyo. In 2026, 14 years into our collaboration, we will open “YONA YONA TOKYO BREWERY” in Shinagawa as the flagship store of “YONA YONA BEER WORKS.” This dining restaurant will be the largest joint venture between the two companies to date, and will be the first to feature a brewery within a restaurant. It will also be the first time that YO-HO Brewing has established a base with a brewery within Tokyo. The Shinagawa area is a business and transportation hub and is expected to become even more lively with plans for multiple
large-scale redevelopments and the opening of the Linear Chuo Shinkansen. By opening a beer restaurant with an attached brewery in Shinagawa, we aim to not only attract craft beer fans, but also business people who do not normally drink craft beer, by introducing them to the craft beer culture, and to allow the increasing number of foreign tourists visiting Japan in recent years to enjoy Japanese craft beer. Opening in March 2014 at Shinagawa Intercity, this is the largest brewery restaurant*¹ directly connected to a station in Japan. Yona Yona Tokyo Brewery will open on the B1 floor (ground floor) of Shinagawa Intercity, which will celebrate its 25th anniversary in 2024 and is scheduled for a major renovation in March 2026. Located a five-minute walk from the Konan Exit of Shinagawa Station, it’s easily accessible even in the rain. Enjoy it after work or while traveling. With seating for approximately 200, it will be the largest craft beer brewery and restaurant in Japan*² directly connected to a station. It is also one of the largest craft beer brewery and restaurant establishments in Japan. The current renovation of Shinagawa Intercity also includes plans for a food area with restaurants from multiple genres, as well as the opening of a dance studio (operated by the Sega Sammy Group) for SEGA SAMMY LUX, a dance group active in Japan’s first professional dance league, D.LEAGUE. While the redevelopment of the Shinagawa area is centered around the Takanawa area, through the renovation of Shinagawa Intercity, located in the Konan area, and the opening of Yona Yona Tokyo Brewery, we hope to create new appeal in the Shinagawa Konanguchi area, which has traditionally been primarily an office district. *¹) A craft beer restaurant and craft beer bar with an attached brewery. *²) According to research by the beer magazine “Beer Kingdom.” As of September 1, 2025. In addition to the beer and food available at the existing YONA YONA BEER WORKS, we plan to offer several craft beers and food exclusive to YONA YONA TOKYO BREWERY. With 36 taps, the largest number yet for both companies, you can enjoy a wide variety of craft beers. We are also planning services not available at the existing YONA YONA BEER WORKS, as well as events that fans can enjoy together. About Flagship Beer The concept of the flagship beer offered at Yona Yona Tokyo Brewery is “a beer with a refreshing taste perfect for a post-work drink and the vibrant hop aroma that’s characteristic of craft beer.” It’s designed to be a craft beer that can be enjoyed by both businesspeople working in Shinagawa and foreign tourists visiting Japan. A prototype of the flagship beer will also be served at the Oedo Beer Festival 2025 Autumn, to be held at Shinagawa Intercity from Wednesday, September 24th to Sunday, September 28th. We plan to continue polishing the beer while listening to the feedback and preferences of customers in the Shinagawa area, and work together to create an even more delicious craft beer.
