Japan Soy Sauce Association Press Release: September 1, 2025 “Hometown Soy Sauce” Giveaway Campaign October 1st is “Soy Sauce Day”! We’ll be delivering the nostalgic taste of hometown soy sauce to 1,300 people. Soy sauce has traditionally been brewed in October, during the agricultural off-season, using soybeans and wheat harvested that year. In 2002, the Japan Soy Sauce
Association designated October 1st, a day closely associated with soy sauce, as “Soy Sauce Day.” Our association is conducting a “Hometown Soy Sauce” giveaway campaign in the hopes of raising awareness of “Soy Sauce Day” among consumers and encouraging them to become soy sauce fans. Enjoy the nostalgic flavors of your hometown or unforgettable flavors you enjoyed on a trip at home. We look forward to receiving your entries.
Campaign overview Application Period: Monday, September 1, 2025 – Friday, October 24, 2025 How to Apply: Visit the Soy Sauce Information Center website (URL: https://www.soysauce.or.jp/). Please select one prefecture (excluding Okinawa Prefecture) of your choice. Specifying the type or brand of soy sauce is not possible. Only one application per person is valid. Entries cannot be submitted by postcard or mail. Prize: Soy sauce produced by soy sauce manufacturers nationwide (excluding Okinawa Prefecture) for 990 winners. As a second chance, 310 unsuccessful applicants will receive the Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries Award. We will give away a set of five mini bottles of Yu. Eligibility: Applicants must reside in Japan and be able to have the product delivered. Winner announcement: The winner will be notified upon shipping of the product. Shipping schedule: Products will be shipped directly from the soy sauce manufacturers (factories) in each prefecture by mid-December.
